nexus monARC Final Event

The Final Event of the Horizon Europe project nexus monARC highlights three years of achievements in advancing scientific capacity, analytical infrastructure, and collaborative research for marine environmental monitoring in the Hellenic Volcanic Arc.

This event, which is being organised by the Department of Geology and Geoenvironment at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (NKUA) in partnership with EXELISIS IKE, will be hybrid and will bring together scientists, policymakers, and stakeholders to highlight accomplishments, exchange ideas, and talk about the future of citizen science-based water monitoring throughout the Mediterranean.

The nexus monARC project, funded under Horizon Europe, strengthens the Department of Geology and Geoenvironment at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (NKUA) by enhancing infrastructure and creating frameworks for effective water-quality monitoring. It promotes knowledge transfer, twinning activities with leading research institutions, and the active engagement of the public through citizen science.

The Final Event will take place at the Museum of History of the University of Athens, “Professor Elias Krispis” Hall, on 17 December 2025, from 09:45 to 14:00 EET.
